It was purchased by a philanthropist who donated it to the local Canton Historical Society. Several steps in restoring the building had already been completed prior to our involvement: the foundations were repaired, it was repainted and some of the windows were restored. A National Register Nomination was prepared and approved and a condition assessment was completed by James J. Malanaphy, AIA. Our role was to take all the previous work, verify all site conditions and prepare the construction drawings and specifications. Working with San Francisco Parks and Recreation and the San Francisco Bureau of Architecture, we oversaw the temporary relocation of the building, the installation of new foundations, the move back to its original location and the restoration of the exterior and clubroom per the Secretary of the Interior's Standards.
